Dave Kim is an internationally acclaimed electric violinist and DJ whose musical journey began at the age of 4. Raised in Nevada, he served as concertmaster of his high school orchestra and competed in state solo competitions before moving to San Francisco during the dot-com boom — where his career truly caught fire.

In the Bay Area, Dave played with a band that performed at legendary venues including the Red Devil Lounge, Slim's, Bimbo's, Sweetwater, the Great American Music Hall, The Viper Room in Los Angeles, and The Bitter End in New York. Their breakthrough came opening for Hootie and The Blowfish, sharing stages with Dishwalla, Marcy Playground, Everclear, and Third Eye Blind.

Under the mentorship of Bay Area DJ legend DJ Solomon, Dave fused live violin with DJ culture — taking that sound from San Francisco clubs to Las Vegas and beyond. That journey led to a landmark performance with DJ AM and Travis Barker of Blink-182 at Mezzanine, and eventually to sharing stages with Kaskade, Mark Farina, Diplo, Steve Aoki, and Double Touch of All Day I Dream.

Then life tested him. In 2016, Dave suffered a stroke that left him with right-side paralysis. He refused to let it be the end of his story. Through faith, relentless determination, and the healing power of music, he relearned his instrument and returned to the stage — more powerful than before. In 2019, he performed on the main stage at BottleRock Festival alongside Michael Franti, a moment that became a symbol of his comeback.

Today, Dave specializes in destination weddings and corporate events worldwide. He has performed for Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island three times, alongside Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys. He has graced the Oprah Network, TEDxSF, the Summit Series DC10 with Bill Clinton and John Legend, and the Hive Global Leaders Summit with Marianne Williamson. He won an award alongside professional figure skater Ashley Clark at the US Open of Professional Figure Skating Championships, and was most recently featured on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing with the Altman Brothers.

Dave Kim doesn't just perform. He transforms every room he enters.
